A Good Deal with a Good Friend

A friend or colleague is soon going to approach you with a business proposal, partnership idea, or maybe just a request for short term financial help. It might be as simple as this person’s needing $25 overnight so nothing bounces at the bank. Your knee jerk reaction might be “No.” I know you’re tired of being hit up for money/help/work opportunities/a place to crash/or just plain old reassurance. It gets draining when people are always coming to you and you have gotten burned before. In this case, the person is trustworthy. If he or she says you will get your funds back by the end of the week, you will be paid in full. If there is an opportunity to go into business with a friend or maybe invest in a piece of property together, it could work out better than you anticipate and turn into something that generates long term, passive income. Be honest. Tell your friend you will kick the tires on this thing and then give it some serious thought. Someone needs your help now but this could turn out to be beneficial for you also. If you decide to go ahead with it, get everything in writing so no one gets forgetful about the terms later 🙂 But you might want to take the risk this time if you have any discretionary funds.
