Keep an Eye on Your Online Time

Today’s message is from the Oracle of Shadows & Light by Lucy Cavendish and Jasmine Becket-Griffith. Poe. “Time for change, to learn something new, to use technology and gadgets for wisdom.” This is a good time to take a look at your internet usage. What are you reading and following every day? How do you feel after a few minutes online? Depressed? Riled up? Kind of sick to your stomach at times? There’s no doubt that our phones, tablets, and computers are crucial tools in the modern world, but make sure that you stay in control. If your time online doesn’t feel comfortable or productive, take a break. Social media can be really toxic. Most of us tend to spin our lives in the most positive way possible … the skinny pictures, the new cars, the nice vacations. If you find yourself doing that, or if you feel the need to portray yourself differently online, just step back for a week or two. Weigh everything you post online, and think about whether or not you would want to say this out loud to a large group of people. When in doubt, say nothing. Stay out of any online drama. This is an election year. Enough said. Have fun with your toys and gadgets but don’t let them run the show. God bless you and have a great day –
