You Can Take a Trip on a Budget

Today’s message is from the Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks and Holly Sierra.  Knight of Cups.  The opportunity to take a trip will present itself soon.  Sure, it looks good on paper, but you might be tired and a little financially strapped right now.  After all, it’s January.  Even if the tickets and accommodations are paid for, it’s going to cost you something.  Tips at the airport and the hotel.  Meals out.  You might need to buy a few new clothes.  The trip is still a good idea, especially if you feel the chance to go to this particular place will not occur again.  If you can swing it, you should go.  This is more of a pilgrimage than a simple vacation.  You are likely to meet someone or make a connection to a place that will change your life for the better.  You can travel and still stick to a budget; it can be done.  You don’t have to go all out.  Look at the itinerary and figure out where you are going to eat while you are away.  That’s usually the biggest expense that creeps up on you.  Can you buy groceries and eat some of your meals in your room?  Does the hotel offer a free breakfast buffet?  Take your journal with you.  Write about your new adventures on one side of the book, and keep a tally of what you are spending on the other.  The money will come and go but it is the experiences you will remember.  If you are willing to do a little bit of planning ahead of time, you can make this work.  Bon voyage!
