A Shout out to the Single Ladies

I usually try to make my card pulls inclusive but today, of all days, I really want to do a shout out to all the single ladies out there. Maybe you are divorced or widowed. Not having a man standing beside you does not diminish you in any way … even if the world and your aunt Betty try to make you feel that way today. The truth is that your independence can seem like a threat to the natural order. You scaled the heights all on your own. Good for you. Be yourself today and to hell what anyone else thinks. Go for a long walk. Have a martini. Plunk yourself down at the grownups’ table at Thanksgiving dinner and deflect all the snide comments with a smile.
