An Old Friend is Testing Your Patience

Today’s message is from the Under the Roses Lenormand Cards. Dog + Whip. There is the danger of having a falling out with a good friend now. The last several months have been awful. Our world is in the grips of political turmoil; the price of groceries is through the roof; the Pats are a disgrace 🙂 You might be feeling on edge more than usual, and who could blame you? But try to be kind and patient over the next few days. You might butt heads with a close friend over some kind of repetitive behavior. This is not a big deal, more of an annoying quirk. Maybe you have a friend who HAS to stop for a cigarette even when you are late for the movie. You might have dinner with a friend who INSISTS on ordering another drink when you are ready to pay the check. (This is me and a close friend, by the way, and here is a clue: I don’t smoke). This person is probably a tried and true pal who has been around for most of your life and knows your secrets. You two might have grown up together. That’s a friend to be cherished but they can also bug the crap out of you after so many years. Anyone you have known that long is going to grate on you after a while. The key is to weigh everything that is at stake. Is it worth hurting your friend’s feelings by lashing out? There may be important issues here, but hold off on talking about it right now. Your fuse is a little short. Give it some time, maybe wait until after Thanksgiving to have a conversation. If you are still bothered within two weeks, sit down and talk it out in a calm, non-threatening way. Think about all the times this person has stood by you … when you were bullied in school, the day you got married, when you started your family … maybe at the grave of one of your parents. Once you put things in perspective, this friend’s flaws will dwindle in comparison. Think Big Picture, Baby! 🙂 God bless you and have a a great day –
