You Are in the Eye of the Storm Now

Maybe you are dealing with the loss of a job or financial problems; maybe your moods are out of whack and you are starting to wonder if it is time to talk to a professional about that. There could be illness in the family. If you have never experienced dealing with a sick relative, let me clue you in: sick people can be mean. Assuming the role of caretaker is not to be taken lightly. The stress and worry of a serious diagnosis is taking its toll and bringing out the worst in everyone. Petty fights could erupt. This doesn’t make you a bad family; it just makes you like everyone else. Whatever you are dealing with, you need a break now but there are more storms on the horizon. It’s time to think about your own needs. Someone who has been leaning heavily on you is going to make a fuss about it and tell you you’re being selfish, but that is not your concern. Step back. Take the afternoon off, check into a hotel over the weekend, or just sit outside for an hour. Ask God to center you and clear your mind so you can hear his guidance.
