You Are Dealing with Grief Now

You might find yourself with a heavy heart this morning. You are being asked to surrender something you never thought you would lose; a part of your life is passing away that you never thought would end. I am not going to make light of your pain by telling you that everything is going to be all right, but I promise that you are stronger than loss and grief. You did the best you could in this situation, no matter how you feel right now. You fought as hard as you could to hold on. The passage of time will bring a little more perspective. The person, pet, home, or place of employment that is departing from you will be alive in your memories and in your heart forever. When you are ready, you are going to move forward and start again. The sorrow you are wrestling with now is teaching you empathy for the grief of others, and you are going to be a wise and patient friend the next time someone else is going through a devastating loss.
