Today’s message is from the Halloween Oracle. Blind Spots. You might find yourself getting in touch with the darker aspects of your personality today. We all have them. Over the last several years, I have learned that I tend to talk down to people who do not speak proper English. For instance, “conversate” is not a word. The verb is “converse.” If it is not in the Oxford English Dictionary, then it is not a word. Poor grammar and mispronunciation always hit a nerve with me. I am not proud of it at all but there it is.
Have you done, said, thought, or felt something lately that you are not proud of? It could be anything. Road rage. Getting irritated with a family member for slurping their tea. Yelling at the dog for killing a squirrel even though we all know that it is in their natures. Maybe you are happily married but you feel an attraction to someone else around you. It’s going to be all right. We all have inappropriate thoughts, urges, ideas, and behaviors from time to time. We all have quirks. Don’t beat yourself up about it. If you could read the minds of the other people around you, you would realize how normal you really are. Pray to God and Mother Mary for help. Resolve to avoid anything that could stimulate lower urges – like porn or violent video games. Maybe cut back on alcohol consumption for a while, if you see a connection between drinking and thinking things you shouldn’t. Resolve to police yourself better. It is all right. God’s got you. He knows you through and through and loves you anyway. How great is that?
