Today’s message is from the Under The Roses Lenormand cards. Snake, Tree, Fish. You have been dealing with a toxic person in your inner circle but you are about to put a stop to that. There is someone around you who sees your weaknesses and exploits them. Who’s been mean to you lately? It might be your boss, a friend, or even a family member or relationship partner. The worst part is that this person makes it all seem like a big joke and you are the one who is too sensitive.
“That’s a cute top. I didn’t think they made that style in your size.”
“Congratulations on your promotion! It’s too bad you never finished college because they won’t move you up again.”
“Love that haircut. Did you do it yourself?”
“Cards? Like playing cards? That’s cute. Don’t you want to get a grown up job?”
I think this is what the kids call “gaslighting” these days. 🙂
Over the coming weeks, be honest with yourself. Who’s hurting your feelings with a smile on his or her face? It is probably the first person who comes to mind. He or she is punching big holes in your self-esteem and it isn’t right. You might not be able to cut this person loose entirely, but take a step back. Ask God to protect you. You might be feeling depressed or anxious because of this emotional abuse and it is wreaking havoc on your diet, sleep, and spending habits. Unplug for a while. Take a break. Focus on yourself and your own wellness. When you stop putting up with bad behavior, this person will either change their ways or go bother someone else.
