Time to Recover from the Holiday

Today’s message is from the Gilded Reverie Lenormand cards. Mice + Bouquet. How was your holiday? Maybe everything went great and you got to see family and friends, and for just a little while you were able to forget all the less pleasant events of 2020. On the other hand, maybe you phoned it in this year and woke up on December 26 feeling sad and empty. Some of you might have had to work on the front lines on Christmas Day; some of you might have lost your job this year due to the pandemic and struggled with the extra holiday expense; still others might be estranged from family and found you were still not welcome in spite of the fact that we might not all be here next year. It is okay to admit that sometimes Christmas stinks 🙂 But remember the real meaning of this season. The birth of Jesus is the miracle and the only thing that is important. The rest is just window dressing. The Mice represent nagging worries, anxieties, or feelings of inadequacy. Your nerves are frayed right now and you need a break. Over the next few days, take a little quiet time for yourself if you can. Get outside in nature. Bundle up … but get out there. Write in your journal if you have the energy. Empty your pockets and hand your problems over to God. You don’t have to come up with your own solutions. Just say something like, “I hate Aunt Margaret.” 🙂 God knows what to do. See the flowers? They represent hope, new life, a fresh start. You might feel withered up and dead inside right now but you just need some time to rest and let God work a miracle in your own life. You will bloom again. I don’t want to jinx us all … but Happy New Year or bust!
