Monday, October 21: Let Go of Regrets and Let God Handle It

Today’s message is from the beautiful and gentle Chrysalis Tarot. Forgiveness. It is time for you to let yourself off the hook for something. What have you done lately that you regret? Have you entertained an unkind thought or a spoke careless word? Like me, have you talked down to someone because you perceived them as less intelligent? Have you been rude to a server or the lady who makes your coffee in the morning, just because you could? Maybe you have done something more complicated and denied someone job advancement because of a personality clash, or contributed by your actions to a long standing family problem. Maybe you gossiped at work and now you realize that you basically rolled a ball of discord downhill. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES. Take steps to fix things. If you can correct your error by word or deed, do so. Fall on your sword and apologize. If this has gone beyond your influence, pray for help and for healing in this situation for everyone involved. God can and will erase the impact of your mistakes in all directions of time … but you have to ask for help. Invite God into the dark and sordid parts of you. He knows about it all anyway. Might as well let him have your back. If you look at this card, a lot of you will see the Blessed Mother but I also see Quan Yin, the goddess of compassion. See the lotus flower? It symbolizes purity of the body, speech, and mind. A recent mistake might be painful now but if you never made mistakes, you would never learn compassion or empathy for others. Take the lesson but leave the sting and let God take care of it all.
